Bligh Tanner Joins Cooperative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities
Bligh Tanner has joined the Cooperative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities (CRC WSC) that aims to revolutionise urban water management in Australia and abroad.
The CRC WSC brings together interdisciplinary research, expertise and thought-leadership on sustainable, resilient and liveable water sensitive cities.
As the first SME Associate to the CRC, Bligh Tanner will be able to build on and share knowledge and innovation in water sensitive urban design with a national and international community of experts. The network includes national, state and local governments, water utilities and authorities, private industry and research institutes.
“Being a member of the CRC provides a unique platform for our staff to build capacity and new skills,” said Chris Tanner, Director, Bligh Tanner.
“It also allows our practice to extend our commitment to sharing knowledge and expertise in this vital area, ensuring the best project outcomes are achieved.”
According to Professor Jurg Keller, CRC WSC Regional Executive Director for the Eastern Region, entities such as Bligh Tanner are very valuable to the CRC.
“Firms like Bligh Tanner are particularly crucial to being able to translate the research at the CRC into actual applications on the ground,” he said.
“Bligh Tanner is well-equipped to use the knowledge and know-how generated from research undertaken at the CRC and make sure the findings are beneficially applied through local and state governments.”
