Concrete Institute Australia National Awards
The Concrete Institute of Australia held their biennial Awards for Excellence at the Concrete 2013 conference on 16 October. The Building Projects Award for Excellence and the Kevin Cavanagh Medal for Excellence in Concrete (overall winner) went to the Australian Age of Dinosaurs museum, designed by Cox Rayner with Bligh Tanner as structural engineers. The Australian Age of Dinosaurs is a not-for-profit museum that is home to the world’s largest collection of Australian dinosaur fossils. Innovative use of precast wall panels which appear to grow out of the rock mesa captured the judges’ imagination. We congratulate Cox Rayner, the Australian Age of Dinosaurs and Woollam Constructions for the extraordinary team effort which has been recognised by these awards.
