Thirty Years in the Making

The Director of the Global Change Institute, Professor Ove Hoegh-Guldberg, received a surprise email recently from the inventor of geopolymer concrete, Professor Joseph Davidovits of the Géopolymère Institute in France. Professor Davidovits sent his warm congratulations for constructing the world’s first building made with structural geopolymer concrete. The invention was developed in the mid 80s and has at last come to fruition.
