Recent droughts, combined with significant population growth in South East Queensland has called for detailed planning into the use of water resources to ensure existing environmental, social and economic values in the region are maintained or improved.
The Total Water Cycle Management Plan prepared for Moreton Bay Regional Council (MBRC) in 2012 involved two phases. The first phase identified water management drivers and issues in the Moreton Bay region and explored solutions to address the identified issues. The second phase involved the preparation of a comprehensive report that includes a detailed assessment of costs and benefits of total water cycle management options and the identification of a preferred management option to assist with MBRC’s priority infrastructure planning.
