2025 Engineers Australia Tertiary Institution Graduate Awards
Congratulations Lily Kenway for being recognised as the winner of the Queensland University of Technology Tertiary Award for 2025.
Bligh Tanner is thrilled to announce that one of our Façade Engineers, Lily Kenway, has been awarded the Queensland University of Technology Tertiary Award for 2025. These awards honour the most promising emerging engineers that have graduated from tertiary institutions across Australia, celebrating their dedication, diligence and academic achievements.

Graduating from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2024 with a double degree in Civil Engineering and Architecture, Lily was an active member of the university’s community serving as an QUT Student Ambassador, STIMulate Peer Learning Facilitator, and College of Excellence Fellow. An interest in engineering sparked at a young age, and her eagerness to learn and understand the world around her led her to demonstrate academic excellence, technical capability and leadership throughout her studies.
In her third year of studies, Bligh Tanner was fortunate to have her join our Team as a Student Engineer, where she contributed to several rewarding projects from start to completion. Reflecting on her time with Bligh Tanner, she highlights:
“I’m particularly proud of some of the projects I have worked on at Bligh Tanner that focus on repositioning assets. I welcome the challenge to practice sustainable design by assessing our existing façades, particularly ones approaching the end of design life, and imagining ways they can be re-used, adapted for new purposes, and improve building performance. Knowing that the work we do can inject life back into an under-utilised building, and reduce materials waste, is very fulfilling.”
Lily aspires to continue challenging herself as her career progresses, through expanding on her understanding of sustainable façades – creating and adapting materials to be waste conscious with end of life considerations, whilst maintaining quality performance properties. She looks to explore how we can integrate natural and biophilic materials into facades on a larger scale, whilst ensuring they remain resilient and weatherproof.
