Boyne Island Crematorium

Greenslopes Private Hospital Expansion


Client: Ramsay Health Care
Project Architect: Phillips Smith Conwell Architects Pty Ltd
Project Manager: John Holland Group
Location: Greenslopes, Brisbane
Value: $28M

  • Structural and civil planning, design and documentation and site phase monitoring for the extension of this existing major hospital.
  • Three linked main buildings include a multi-level 70m long medical centre, a 7-storey wards block and a 3-level theatre complex.
  • The buildings are a variety of construction types including post-tensioned floors, and a flat plate concrete construction.
  • Design incorporates large (up to 1800mm) shallow bored piers that achieve required capacities without expensive and time-consuming excavation support.
  • Scope of works incudes carparking and water supply upgrades.

Location: South East Freeway, Brisbane

  • Bligh Tanner’s role ranged from concept design to component manual development to individual station design and construction.
  • Use of structural elements of scale to fit within freeway and suburban settings
  • Pedestrian bridge spans of up to 40m were achieved with an arched 200mm standard hot rolled beam.
  • High overall transparency to promote passenger security
