Ipswich River Heart

Client: Ipswich City Council
Project Architect: EDAW
Location: Ipswich, Queensland

  • 1.5ha parklands to make the Bremer River more accessible to the community
  • Includes boardwalks, viewing platforms, water features, shade structures and structural steps
  • Water is sourced from the river and treated and stored underground for minimum visual intrusion
  • Incorporates a complex arrangement of structural steps and folds while using sample panels ensured the quality and colour of the final finish

South-East Transit Busway Stations


Client: Queensland Transport
Project Architect: Derek Trusler, Woods Bagot, Cottee Parker, Peddle Thorp, Planet Design
Location: South East Freeway, Brisbane
Value: $35M

  • Bligh Tanner’s role ranged from concept design to component manual development to individual station design and construction.
  • Use of structural elements of scale to fit within freeway and suburban settings
  • Pedestrian bridge spans of up to 40m were achieved with an arched 200mm standard hot rolled beam.
  • High overall transparency to promote passenger security
