Liam Sherman is a Structural Engineer for Bligh Tanner in Brisbane. A recent graduate, Liam started as a Student Engineer and transitioned to full time in 2016. He has developed a long list of projects in a short time, evidencing his ability to provide consistent, quality outcomes under the pressure of multiple, concurrent projects.
While studying his Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) at the University of Queensland (UQ), Liam worked for Lendlease, gaining onsite experience on projects at the Brisbane International Airport and the RNA Showgrounds. He then commenced as a Student Engineer with Bligh Tanner in 2015. Throughout his time at Bligh Tanner, Liam has been involved in large scale institutional, residential and special structure projects. He particularly enjoyed working on the Forgan Smith and the Connell and Human Performance Labs refurbishments at UQ, and found his understanding of each spaces’ usage greatly assisted his ability to contribute to the project outcomes.
Liam is the current Treasurer of the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) Young Members Group Queensland (YMQ) which aims to promote structural engineering through a variety of learning and networking events for the emerging structural engineers of Queensland.
